    Works as advertised, very easy

I bought ASUS WiCast device really doubting it would do what I wanted - broadcast my living room cable box signal to a second TV in the kitchen. However, 3 minutes after the UPS man left my house, it was doing just that. Two power connections, two HDMI connections and it is done. Mine are about 15-20 feet apart, but they are not line of site (the receiver is around the corner and behind a wall). But the signal is perfect. There is no perceptible lag and the picture is fine (I'm using a really crappy TV as the receiver, so a better TV might show some degradation, maybe).

FYI, AT&T U-Verse box will drive both the HDMI and Component outputs simultaneously, which is how I'm getting a signal on both the main TV (Component) and the kitchen TV (wicast HDMI).

Works flawlessly on new MacBook Pros

I bought ASUS EW2000 device to hopefully stream audio and video from my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro to my TV. The mid-2010 MacBook Pro outputs audio from its MiniDVI port. To use HDMI, you must buy a special miniDVI to HDMI adapter(mine is made by Griffin) that includes the audio signal. I was hesitant to buy this product not knowing if it'd work with the new MacBook Pros to transmit the audio wirelessly as well because of the adapter I must use. My concerns were completely unfounded.

Not only does it output audio as well as crystal-clear video, but it also only uses one USB port on the MacBook pro to power it rather than the two specified in the instructions. I think this has something to do with Apple putting higher-power USB ports on their products(it also includes an AC adapter). The cables the device comes with are the perfect length for my purposes.

All in all, ASUS WiCast product works flawlessly for what I bought it for: Running a media center app on my laptop and viewing my video library(plenty of 1080p content) on my TV without using an HDMI cable. This device handles it perfectly.

In the week I've spent using this product, I only have one complaint: The power plug comes out of the receiver piece way too easily. This isn't a huge deal for me because I don't anticipate moving the receiver very much.

Great product! Let me know if anyone has any questions or wants me to test anything specific with it. I'll do my best. Highly recommended product!

    Blu-Ray Quality Wireless HDMI Distribution

I'm a believer. The WiCast EW2000 really does distribute FullHD media to nearby rooms -- wirelessly. No more drilling holes through walls, futzing with stuttering WiFi routers or underperforming Powerline devices. The WiCast performs according to specifications. I'm able to transmit 1080p movies with 8 channel audio through walls without stutter, dropouts, or annoying audio delays. The WiCast appears to be the first device to incorporate the new WHDI (wireless HDMI) standard.

The WiCast is able to transmit HDMI from my HTPC, through two walls, over 20 feet, to my projector. It maintains a consistent high quality signal. I don't notice any artifacting when playing 1080p movies. The image is razor sharp. However, I do notice some sparkling when transmitting a PC desktop at 1080p even over short distances. This suggests to me that the device isn't perfect for all usages but it certainly works well for viewing 1080p video content. That's my main usage. YMMV. The video image shows noise when the device overextends its range, similar to the noise seen in high ISO digital camera photos.
