Wow! For what you pay, this is a great Panasonic DMP BD65 Blu Ray player. As soon as I plugged it into the wall with an Ethernet cable and hit update it was able to stream Netflix and Pandora and a hole bunch of other stuff I'll never use. Pandora is better than on the computer because, for some reason, there are no commercials when it streams through the Blu Ray Player. The Netflix quality is WAY better than I expected. I do have a pretty fast connection (4 up/4 down) so that might make a difference. When I want to stream from Netflix, it literally takes about 10 seconds to retrieve and voila! It starts playing with no hesitating, no buffering, nothing. And you use the remote to pause, skip, etc just like a disc. Some Netflix stream titles are in HD and others are a bit less (about standard DVD quality I would say). The sound is not quite as good as a Blu Ray disc as it is compressed, but it still very good. Between this player your $11/month Netflix sub (which will get you one-at-a-time Blu Rays and unlimited streaming, and a $20 amplified hi-def antenna (like a Terk)to get broadcast you should be good to go. Screw cable!
Great value and product

I purchased this DMP BD65 player based on other reviews and feedback, and I am definitely satisfied with the purchase. This was my first blu-ray player; I have been using an inexpensive regular upconverting DVD player since I purchased my Samsung HDTV last year. I decided to get the model without a wireless adapter as I have a Wii to watch my Netflix on already. I considered buying a Samsung to stay with the same brand, but the price and ratings were much better on the Panasonic models.
Having never used a blu-ray player, this Panasonic DMP BD65 was very easy to set up. I already had an HDMI cable (which I recommend purchasing online), and the remote was fairly easy to understand. The upconverting quality of my regular DVDs is EXCELLENT; even better than the regular player I'd been using. I do notice some older films that have not been released in HD format are grainy with this player (like the Sound of Music), but newer DVDs look absolutely great.
Awesome!

I'm not a technical person like a lot of the other reviews I read - I'm just a normal person who wanted a blu-ray player that we could afford. We purchased this along with the Panasonic 42" plasma TV model P42C2. The salesman at the store told us these were very easy to link together - a big plus for us since we are not at all electronically inclined.
We love this Panasonic blu ray player! The quality is outstanding. We're very pleased with how easy it was to connect the tv to the blu-ray player. It was in our price range, and to us, that was the most important part. When we bought this my husband and I said to each other that we've got to be careful and not buy all of our movies on blu-ray just because we have one now. But the last 4 movies we've bought have all been on blu-ray. We also have an "old-fashioned" dvd/vcr player hooked up to the TV for the kids' movies so they don't mess with the blu-ray and the difference is amazing. I'm a big Twilight fan and was so excited to watch Edward sparkle! It was a totally different experience.
