Onkyo HT-S3300 5.1-Channel Home Theater

Onkyo HT-S3300 Home Theater Review

Onkyo HT S3300
If you’re looking for a future-ready receiver-and-speaker package that won’t break the bank, your search may be over. Meet Onkyo HT-S3300--a system packed with so much advanced technology that it redefines entry-level home theater. As with every A/V receiver in Onkyo’s 2010 line-up, you get the latest iteration of HDMI—version 1.4. Three HDMI inputs let you hook up your Blu-ray player, game console, and cable/satellite box--all of which can be output via a single cable to your connected high-resolution display. Not only is HDMI 1.4 compatible with next-generation 3-D video, it also enables a convenient Audio Return Channel. On top of this, the HT-S3300 supports lossless HD audio formats from Dolby and DTS--previously the domain of mid-range to high-end receivers only. The HT-S3300 also provides an overlaid On-Screen Display function for easy adjustment of settings, a Universal Port for one-cable connection of peripherals, Audyssey equalization, four gaming audio modes, and a fully immersive, beautifully balanced 5.1-channel speaker set.

The Onkyo HT-S3300’s A/V receiver can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, two lossless formats that enable delivery of a bit-for-bit soundtrack that's identical to the studio master track. These codecs, previously available only on mid-range and high-end receivers, take advantage of the high data capacity of the Blu-ray format.
Onkyo HT S3300

Onkyo has included a capable 5.1-channel speaker suite that is perfectly matched to the HT-R380 receiver. You get two SKF-380 full-range bass reflex front-channel speakers, one SKC-380 center-channel speaker, and two SKR-380 surround speakers. Each of these speakers come equipped with one full-range 3-1/4" woofer that is rated at 120-Watts. This Onkyo HT-S3300  package also includes one SKW-380 8" downward-firing bass reflex subwoofer, which is rated at 130-Watts of maximum input power.

Fujifilm FinePix S1800 12.2 MP Digital Camera

Fujifilm FinePix S1800
The FinePix S1800 features a Fujinon 18x wide-angle optical zoom lens that produces crisp high resolution results throughout the focal range, from 28mm wide-angle to an astounding 504mm telephoto. It also features Instant Zoom, which enables you to keep their subject in a shot at long distance by offering a wide viewing area around the frame and then immediately cropping to the subject once the photo is taken.

The FinePix S1800 has the useful Auto Picture Rotation that ensures your photos are always viewed the right way in playback. Whether you have taken a landscape or portrait image, you can enjoy your pictures whichever way you are holding the camera, as the image will automatically rotate in the screen for easy viewing.

Long-zoom cameras need stabilization more than any other compact, with handshake and subject movement a particular problem in low light at telephoto range. The FinePix S1800 reduces blur to a minimum with a mechanically stabilized CCD sensor and high ISO sensitivity (to ISO 6400), so that blur is reduced to an absolute minimum.

Fujifilm Finepix S1800 Highlights

  • HD Movie Capture
  • 18x Fujinon Optical Zoom Lens
  • Smile and Blink Detection
  • Tracking Auto Focus
